Bear hugs, hot air balloons, and TRAVEL(!!!)
Hi guys! Here’s my weekly DIY Sunday post! But first**:
**Disclaimer: the reading of this post and/or looking at the graphic images below may infect even the most resolute couch potato with a strong, compelling desire to get on/in the closest plane/train/truck/bicycle/skateboard/those cool shoes with the wheels that I wanted when I was a kid but never got/boat/tuk tuk/submarine/giraffe and get the fuck out of wherever they are now and just go to some other random fucking place. You have been warned.
I thought I’d dedicate today’s DIY to making travel journals because I believe I’ve caught the travel bug. It’s a devious little bastard because it pounces on you when you least expect it. Since it catches you off guard, its headlong tackle and subsequent bear hug knock the wind out of you, but you don’t really mind not being able to breathe because it begins to play such marvelous games with your imagination. I’m still in recovery mode so I keep telling myself that this is part of my treatment :)

^Say hello to my travel bug, Señor Gil, and his faithful companion Tina. This took me about 30 seconds to put together. Ok, more like a minute. Yes, I know I suck at Photoshop. Yes, I am aware that it doesn’t count as Photoshop if you’re just copy/pasting stuff you find on Google Images onto Paint. But if that’s all you notice when you’re staring at a bug wearing a sombrero with a miniature camel chilling next to it, you really need to read this post.
STEP 1: Dream. Dream often. Dream vibrant dreams. Dream about other places. Dream while doing the dishes. Dream in a thoroughly disorganized manner. Dream about Antarctica, Majorca, Loreto, the Danube. Dream that your life’s purpose is to travel. Dream of poi, fish & chips, haggis, and foi gras. Dream like an adventurer; seeing the world = what you do.

^This lovely gem took me all of 3 minutes. Well, 5 if you count looking for my color pencils (my dresser may be complete, but I haven’t figured out how to be un-lazy enough to put stuff back after I’m done using it).

^If you’re wondering what my right arm is doing, it’s saluting, bitches! Note the bug wearing the sombrero and the miniature camel chilling next to me. Travel buddies 4 lyfe.
I think this is getting kinda long and I don’t want people to see a shit-ton of paragraphs on their dashboards, so keep reading for the next steps!
