It’s kinda cool cause I’ve gained about 16 followers over the past week. For you more popular Tumblr folk this probably doesn’t mean much, but for this tiny blog it’s a milestone! I don’t know why the sudden follow-age, I haven’t really changed my blogging methods much. Well, I have been posting more original stuff, so maybe that’s it? Either way, this makes me excited! Hopefully people are liking my blogs and reblogs! I am planning on posting some DIY things this weekend (one of them starts with a T and ends with ARDIS cupcakes!), so that should be exciting :)

Wanted: TARDIS cupcake DIY

To all you wonderful Whovians:

A few months ago I saw some amazing pictures of a TARDIS cupcake DIY on my dash. I’ve been through my “liked” posts (yes, ALL of them…) to no avail :(

If anyone knows anything about any TARDIS cupcake post…please share the link! I’m guest lecturing for a Doctor Who class (yes, I know!! More information about this coming soon!) and I’m the type of gal that likes to bake her way into the hearts of freshmen and sophomores, so I thought making some delicious TARDIS cupcakes would be a great way to do so :)

So when I moved into my new apartment last week I brought my assortment of teas (I’m a serial tea-buyer) not knowing that the people who had lived here before me had dumped their own collections before peacing out. There are now a bajillion tea bags all around the house.

That brings me to my Very Important Question:

Does anybody know a creative way to organize/store hundreds of tea bags??

So. Here is a quick glimpse of my DIY Travel Journal: Chile Edition!

I spent the last six months studying abroad in Chile and had the marvelous opportunity (or rather, several marvelous opportunities) to travel around South America.

While I kept an online blog so that my friends and family could follow me around the southern hemisphere, I opted to keep a travel journal too to chronicle my more personal musings.

I’m making travel contact cards for my upcoming trip! So excited! :D

Currently…

…I’m attempting to make DIY business cards for when I travel abroad. Actually, that’s a misnomer. They’re not really business cards, rather “calling cards”. I know I’m going to meet people that I’d like to keep in contact with after we part ways, and that, if they’re like me, it’d be easier to hold onto cards than random pieces of paper.

I’ve checked out a couple of websites that customize and print cards for you, but I want to try my hand at making some on my own. I don’t have a custom stamp with my name and information on it, nor do I have time to get one, so any other simple ideas would be magnificent!

Does anyone have any suggestions or examples of easy-to-make business cards?

Mustaches, budgets, and penguins

Being bedridden for a few days because of the flu wasn’t always fun, so I entertained myself the way I knew how: by gettin’ crafty ;)

I reorganized my bookshelves (and got a new one!). Looks cozy doesn’t it?? :)

So, I kinda have this goal: I want to visit all seven continents before I’m 25. Currently, I have three more left (2 more after June, eeeek!) and one of those is Antarctica. I was super excited because I thought I’d be able to go there while studying abroad. Then I started doing some research and found out it’s an expensive trip to make, especially for a student budget. But I’ll make it there one day!

I was bummed out when I realized I probably can’t go in the near future, but this jar, despite not being able to hold more than $50 in coins, is so inspiring that I don’t feel bad anymore because I know I’ll get there someday. I really recommend making something like this, even if what you want requires more than just pocket change.

How do you get motivated??

As promised, here are some pictures of the next travel journal I’m working on! It’s still a work-in-progress, but I’ll keep updating as I add new stuff. It’s for my upcoming trip to Chile and I AM STOKED (in case you haven’t noticed hehe). The format is pretty similar to the last one I made, just a few more Spanish words thrown in :) Obviously it isn’t filled with anything, but hopefully I’ll have some AMAZING things to show you when I’m back! :D
